Lame Tamer (2019)
Performance about wild and Tame
Lame Tamer is a performance combining dance and theater. It explores the complex relationship of humans towards animals and other humans. It is a performance about wildness and taming, about subjucation andthe animal side of humanity.
The performance is intended for theatre spaces where the audience can be seated on all four sides of the performance area. Resembling a manége or arena, the audience experiences the performance in a multi-sensory way.
Lame Tamer premiered in Kajaani, in the north of Finland, in 2019. The performance received an immensely positive response from the audience. The work has also been presented to sold-out audiences at Zodiak – Center for New Dance in Helsinki, Finland. Engaged audiences have described the work as profound, playful, topical, and powerful. The performance experience penetrates different levels of sensory reactions, and is passes through all layers of knowing, not-knowing and sensing.
Performance is perfectly refined and unified whole. Outstanding dancers live in different forms and these forms change unnoticed. Movement world is authentic. When you drag the other you drag fully. Everything happens with full energy. -Teija Ravelin, Kainuun Sanomat
