Fenced dreams -performance premiere in august
Aidatut unelmat (Fenced dreams) is a walking performance by choreographer Sari Palmgren, zigzagging through the gardens of the Kaarela area. After a performance, you can enjoy a delicious vegetarian dinner in the August twilight in ambient surroundings of the apple orchard in Malminkartano. Performances 24.-31.8.2017.
Performance is experienced while walking about. Performance starts on Sitratori in front of Kanneltalo (Klaneettitie 5).

Aidatut unelmat workshop and audition
Osallistu Sari Palmgrenin uuteen teokseen! Esitysryhmään haetaan sekä tanssin ammattilaisia, alan opiskelijoita että tanssin harrastajia 28.-29.1. järjestettävän valintatilaisuuden kautta.
Vuoden 2017 aikana toteutetaan koreografi Sari Palmgrenin tanssiteos Salainen puutarha (työnimi). Esitys on Kannelmäestä Malminkartanolle kiertävä teos. Matkan aikana vieraillaan luontokohteissa, yksityisissä puutarhoissa ja alueen rakennuksissa sekä kuullaan niihin kätkeytyneitä tarinoita ja salaisuuksia. Esitys päättyy Malminkartanon omenatarhaan. Esitys on osa Zodiak - Uuden tanssin keskuksen syksyn kausiohjelmistoa, Zodiakin 20-vuotisjuhlaa sekä Kanneltalon 25-vuotisjuhlateos.
Mukaan etsitään esiintymisestä kiinnostuneita eri-ikäisiä ja -taustaisia osallistujia! Esitysryhmän valintatilaisuuteen ovat tervetulleita kaikki, eikä osallistuminen edellytä aikaisempaa tanssikokemusta. Kurssille ovat tervetulleita myös ammattilaiset ja alan opiskelijat. Jokaisen osallistujan lähtökohdat huomioidaan. Valintatilaisuuden kautta teokseen palkataan kaksi ammattitanssijaa.
Teoksen esitykset ajoittuvat elokuun loppuun, harjoituksia pidetään jo keväällä. Osallistuminen edellyttää sitoutumisen kaikkiin harjoituksiin sekä esityksiin.

Licking Things workshop: Looking for Fulfilment through Music and Movement
The Licking Things workshop looks for fulfilment through music and movement. The aim of the course is to explore the relationship between music and movement through motion-based exercises performed alone and in a group. Motion is used to seek a profound, comprehensive sense of presence and perception.
The instructors of the workshop are choreographer Sari Palmgren and musician/composers Mikko Perkola and Tuomas Norvio. The course includes movement-based activities performed to live music and an introduction to choreography and performance production. The course proceeds in step with the preparation of Sari Palmgren's upcoming performance Licking Things (premiere 9 November). Students participate in the preparations of the performance, and are allowed to watch the rehearsals.
Tuesdays at 18-20, 11 October - 1 November
Exceptions: 11 October class is held at Zodiak Stage and 1 November class starts at 18.30.

Availability is limited, so sign up in time! Welcome letters and invoices are sent to participants immediately after registration closes. Please bring a receipt of your course payment to the first meeting of your course. Zodiak's courses and workshops can also be paid using pre-paid Liikuntaseteli and Kulttuuriseteli vouchers (Smartum Oy) as well as Virikeseteli vouchers (Edenred Oy).

The Sustainability Report 2015
Sari Palmgren was part of the Kedja Sustainability Think Tank 2012-2015. The outcome of the think tank is a report with recommendations for a sustainable dance field. The report addresses all levels of decision making – local, national and international - as well as the dance community itself, being aware that the conditions for dance vary among the different countries.
The keðja Sustainability Think Tank invites cultural actors, policy makers, organizations, artists and other dance professionals to make use of the Sustainability Report in their work and in advocacy, highlighting those recommendations that best meets their specific needs and conditions.
